Home invasion in Freetown sends man to hospital

A home invasion in Freetown that sent the homeowner to hospital is being investigated by Prince District RCMP.

Charges have not yet been laid, say Prince District RCMP

A home invasion in Freetown that sent the homeowner to hospital is being investigated by Prince District RCMP.

The incident happened at around 2:30 a.m., say police.

"The victim indicated there were four people that entered his residence and ended up assaulting him," said Sgt. Darrell Gill.

"Of course, an investigation was started. And shortly after we located the four suspects with assistance from Summerside city police they were taken into custody. It is one female and three males."

Charges have not yet been laid.

The victim was treated at the local hospital and released with minor injuries.

He alleges items were taken from his home as well.

RCMP won't say at this point if the man knew the people who allegedly assaulted him.
