A Cornwall, P.E.I. man is among 22 Atlantic Canadians arrested and charged during an online child pornography investigation in the region, and Island RCMP expect more arrests.

Steven Bowley, 25, is charged with possession and distribution ofchild pornography.

The charges were laid after RCMP searched his home on June 20. A court date for Bowley has not been set.

RCMP Sgt. Andrew Blackadar told CBC News Wednesday an internet child exploitation team is continuing to work on the Island and he expects there will be more arrests.

"At this point I think it's safe to say it's one Island man charged so far," said Blackadar.

"I'm sure you'll see more to come. This is just the tip of the iceberg."

The 22 arrested this week face a total of 64 charges. Policeseized 43 computers and say they recovered millions of images.

RCMP rescued two children, one fromNewfoundland and the other from Nova Scotia.

The investigation was centred in Atlantic Canada, and is a follow-up to a similar investigation in the prairies and the north.
