There are big plans forthe Stanley Cup, including a parade, when Boston Bruin Adam McQuaid brings itto P.E.I. this summer.

McQuaid, from Cornwall, will be showing off the Stanley Cup on Aug. 28.

The town will hold a parade at 1 p.m. followed by a celebration at the APM Centre.

There will also be a raffle for Boston Bruinsmerchandise, with proceeds going to charity.

People will be able to enter a draw for a chance to get their picture taken with McQuaid and the Cup.

"For me, the simple little things are pretty cool. You know, possibly just, sitting around the living room, like you normally would, watching TV, and having the Stanley Cup, you know, on the coffee table. Just little things like that," said McQuaid.

"I think just being the presence of it just makes any regular thing that much cooler."

Organizers say the Cup's P.E.I. stay will probably attract crowds.

People are asked to park at nearby schools and take a shuttle to the event.

McQuaid just signed a three-year extension on his contract with the Boston Bruins, reportedly worth $4.7 million.
