A house fire near Alberton, P.E.I., has displaced a family of three, according to the Canadian Red Cross.

A house fire near Alberton, P.E.I., has displaced a family of three, according to the Canadian Red Cross.

The agency which is helping with emergency lodging, food and clothing said the fire occurred mid-day on Thursday in a two-storey farmhouse on Oliver Road, a few kilometresnorth east of the town.

The fire was contained, but caused significant smoke damage, said the Red Cross.

A couple and their adult son were affected.
