'Significant' amount of child pornography seized, Charlottetown man arrested

A man who was allegedly spotted looking at child pornography on a computer in a public library has been arrested in Charlottetown.

A man who was allegedly spotted looking atchild pornography on a computer in a public library has been arrested in Charlottetown.

Police got acomplaint from the public Sunday afternoon, about a personaccessing and downloading child pornography at the Confederation Centre Public Library.

Deputy Chief BradMacConnellsaid officers responded and a short time later arrested a 55-year-old Charlottetown man at a residence.

During a search of the man's home, police found what MacConnell called a "significant" amount of pornographic material.

MacConnell could not speak to the exact amount of items seized, saying it could stem from "hundreds to thousands" of items, but added it was mainly printed material.

The manwill face the charges in provincial court.
