Fuel prices increase across Prince Edward Island

The price of gasoline and other fuel products, such as propane and furnace oil, increased Saturday on P.E.I.

Regular gasoline up by 2.9 cents a litre

Islanders heading to the gas pumps Saturday morning may have noticed that it costs more to fill the tank compared to yesterday.

Regular unleaded gas up 2.9 cents

At 12:01 a.m. Saturday morning, gas prices on Prince Edward Islandrose by 2.9 cents a litre.

The price of regular gasoline at self-serve outlets now ranges from 104.1 to 105.2 cents a litre, according to the Island Regulatory and Appeals Commission, whichannounced the price increase Saturday.

Furnace oil, propane also increase

Also increasing are furnace and stove oil prices by 3.2 cents a litre and diesel by 3.1 cents a litre.

Propane provided by Superior Propane increased by one cent a litre and by 1.4 cents a litre provided by Irving Energy Distribution and Marketing. Propane provided by Kenmac Energy Inc. increased by 2.9 cents a litre.

The commission's next scheduled price adjustment is Oct. 15.
