Former Souris mayor Gussie Clinton passes away

A former mayor and well known sports figure in Souris, P.E.I., has passed away.

Gussie Clinton lost his battle with cancer Tuesday at the age of 69.

Clinton worked with the post office until 2005.

He was mayor of Souris for six years from 1994 to 2000.

He was involved in hockey, baseball and the return of football to Souris.

Funeral services for Clinton will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at St. Mary's Church.
