The snow falling Thursday, along with the snow already down, could block drainage and lead to some areas of standing water.

"Use caution on wet roads as hydroplaning conditions may be present," said Mitchell.

"Otherwise you're probably just looking at havingto walk around puddles or pooled water where drainage may be blocked. No widespread or flash flooding is expected."

Icy conditions possible Saturday

The gusty easterly winds should peak late afternoon and early evening between 50 and 80 km/h, said Mitchell, gradually easing and turn northwest byFridaymorning.

Most temperatures should remain above freezingovernight, so a flash freeze is not a concern.

Fridaywill be cloudy with scattered showers, and northwest winds 30 gusting to 50 km/h.

LowsFridaynight will dip to or below freezing, which could lead to some icy spots beforeSaturday morning.
