A 21-year-old man faces drug-related charges following a police stop Saturday evening in Charlottetown.

Officers first stopped the man for Highway Traffic Act offenses on a motorcycle, Sgt. LeanneButler said.

During a search, Butler said officers found Percocet and marijuana, cash, and other drug paraphernalia.

The man was taken to the Queens RCMP detachment to have impaired drug evaluation testing, but police said he refused to comply.

The man faces charges of refusal as well as two counts of trafficking drugs and one count of being in possession of a prohibited weapon, Butler said.

The motorcyclistwas one of three impaired driving arrests Queen's District RCMP made over the weekend, she added.

"To still have three impaireddrivers this weekend in Queens District and one in Prince that's a high amount of impaireddrivinghappening in our province, which is troubling," Butler said.

"Which is very dangerous for everybody. It should be concerning for the public."
