Ed Clark, the owner of Superior Sanitation didn't want to give many details on the deal, but confirmed the company will not be using the Montague, P.E.I., location that Myers' Industeriesoperated out of.

According to Clark, there will be six employees affected and all have been offered jobs at Superior's Charlottetown location. Clark said some have taken him up on the offer, but the final number is not confirmed yet.

According to the company's website, Myer's Industries has been in business since 1995, and provided residential garbage removal for more than 9,000 homes and 1,800 cottages in Kings County. The company also supplied commercial waste removal Island-wide.

Island Waste Management says there won't be an interruption in service for the residential customers in southern and eastern Kings it had contracted Myers to do waste and compost pickup for.

As for what will happen to other customers, Clark said that is still being worked out.

"It's still in the infancy phase, I will have a better ideal how that lies in a couple of weeks."

Myers Industries had been trying to open a new facility on Baldwin's Road in eastern P.E.I. The plan received criticism from locals. The application was eventually withdrawn in March.

CBC tried to contact Myers Industries but the attempts went unanswered, and the company's office phones are now forwarded to Superior Sanitation.
