Missing New Glasgow, P.E.I., man found dead

A man from New Glasgow, P.E.I., reported missing Sunday evening has been found dead.

The man was last seen at his home at about 3 p.m. Friday. RCMP were called Sunday evening by worried friends and family.

RCMP began a search of his home and the surrounding area right away with the help of a dog and a drone,but were unsuccessful Sunday.

The search was to continue Monday with the help of P.E.I. Ground Search and Rescue, but ended before they were on the scene.

"One of our members from this detachment was in and around the area and found the person that was missing, and found that he was deceased," said RCMP Sgt. Craig Eveleigh.

The death is not considered suspicious, said Eveleigh.

The cause of death is not known, he said, andan autopsy will be conducted.
