Driver charged for passing school bus

P.E.I RCMP have charged a driver with passing a school bus with the red lights flashing, after receiving a report of erratic driving Thursday afternoon.

P.E.I RCMP have charged a driver with passing a school bus with the red lights flashing, after receiving a report of erratic driving Thursday afternoon.

Police received the complaint a little before 4 p.m. when a car was seen driving past a school bus that had activated its flashing red lights on Route #2near Warren Grove Road.

RCMP say they located the car a short time later, and the driver was charged for overtaking school bus when red lights flashing.

RCMP noted the minimum penalty for this offence is$1000andeight demerit points, and that the risk to students is even more serious.
