Wife of alleged 'screen cutter' pleads not guilty

The wife of a man accused of multiple home break-ins has entered a plea of not guilty to possession of the proceeds of crime.

The wife of a man accused of multiple home break-inshas entered a plea of not guilty to possession of the proceeds of crime.

Courtney Christina Arsenault, 34, has chosen to have her case heard by a judge and jury.

In a brief court appearance Thursday in Summerside, she was also given permission to visit her husband in jail.

Richard Arsenault, 38, of Travellers Rest, has been in custody for the past 11 weeks. He is charged in connection with a string of break-ins in Charlottetown, Stratford and Cornwall in what police call the "screen cutter" case.

He is due back in Charlottetown court on Monday.

Courtney Arsenault will be back in Summerside court Nov. 10 to set a date for a preliminary inquiry.
