Fire contained at Superior Sanitation in Charlottetown

The Charlottetown Fire Department responded with three trucks to a call of a fire outside Superior Sanitation early Friday evening.

Firefighters say call came in at 5:30 p.m.

The Charlottetown Fire Department responded with three trucks to a fire call outside Superior Sanitation early Friday evening.

Charlottetown fire Inspector Kent Mitchell said the call came in around 5:30 andwhen firefighters arrived they"found multiple vehicles fully engulfed in flames."

Firefighters immediatelystarted dousing the flames using a nearby hydrant and had vehicles moved away from the blaze.

"We got occupants in the building to move vehicles beside the vehiclesinvolved out of the way so they wouldn'tbecome involved in the fire as well," Mitchell said.

Mitchell said 12 firefighters responded to the scene and had the situation under controlby around 6:30

Mitchell said no one was in immediate danger and that aninvestigation will begin soon.

He did not confirm the numberof trucks lost in this fire.

Charlottetown Police also responded to the call.
