P.E.I. wages remain lowest in Canada

A new report from Statistics Canada shows Prince Edward Islanders still have the lowest wages in Canada.

A new report from Statistics Canada shows Prince Edward Islanders still have the lowest wages in Canada.

The average weekly wage for Islanders was $809.17 in April. The Canadian average was $955.67. The next lowest wage was in Nova Scotia, at $856.84.

Wages did grow at a rate above the national average on P.E.I., as measured from April 2015 to April 2016. They were up 0.6 per cent, as compared to an increase of 0.2 per cent nationally.
