The RCMP's commanding officer in P.E.I. will be on Twitter Monday morning to draw attention to road safety and the day-to-day work of patrol officers.

Chief Supt. Joanne Crampton will head out in a cruiser to tweet her experiences. She will also answer questions from people following along.

"I'm hoping that they'll ask some good questions about maybe what a day-to-day role is of a police officer out on the road as well as maybe some traffic tips, some advice on, you know, different things that people will ask us one-on-one but maybe we could answer in a more public forum."

Crampton will ride in the passenger seat alongside Const. Jamie Parsons, himself a prolific tweeter.

She will tweet at @RCMPPEITraffic #tweetalong until noon Monday.
