24 inmates have COVID-19 at Saskatchewan Penitentiary in Prince Albert, CSC says

The Correctional Service of Canada is reporting a COVID-19outbreak at the prison in Prince Albert, Sask.

No known active cases among prison staff, Correction Service of Canada says

The Correctional Service ofCanada (CSC) is reporting a COVID-19outbreak at the prison in Prince Albert, Sask.

There are 24 people in custody at Saskatchewan Penitentiary who have tested positive, CSC said.

There are 457 inmates in the medium security unit at the facility where the positive cases are occurring.

CSC saidthe inmates who tested positive are currently in isolation.

It also saidthere are no known active casesof COVID-19 among people who work at the facility.
