Boil water for drinking in Prince Albert, officials say

Health officials want people in Prince Albert and area to boilwater used for drinking.

The order, issued Friday afternoon, was made because of problems at the water treatment plant.

"Treatment process interruptions combined with a mechanical failure has resulted in a disruption to the potable water system," officials said.

The advisory applies to the city of Prince Albert, and the Prince Albert rural water distribution system.

Officials were also asking water users to curtail use, so that the current supply of water would last as long as possible, "until normal production rates can be restored."
