Construction begins on White City overpass

Construction is officially underway on the White City overpass portion of the Regina bypass project.

Construction is officially underway on the White City overpass portion of the Regina bypass project.

The provincial government held an event near one of its sites at Highway 1 and Highway 48 this morning.

White City Mayor Bruce Evans says he gets emotional when he speaks about the project.He hopes it will save the lives of people travelling in an area with a relatively high number ofcollisions.

People opposing the placement of the project have put up signs voicing their opinion at some of the construction sites off Highway 1.

White City, a commuter town of about 1,900 residents, is 12 kilometres east of Regina.
