Eastend's T. rex centre gets $200,000

The home of "Scotty" the Tyrannosaurus rex in southwestern Saskatchewan is getting an extra $200,000 from the province.

The home of "Scotty" the Tyrannosaurus rex in southwestern Saskatchewan is getting an extra $200,000 from the province.

Eastend's T. rex Discovery Centre will use the money to hire more staff, improve exhibits and run programs.

It will also use some extra money for marketing and promotion.

The T. rex that was discovered in the Eastend area in the 1990s turned out to be one of the largest in the world and is the centrepiece of the museum.

The centre opened in 2003 and has since become a big tourist drawfor the region.
