Election day for Saskatchewan could move to 2016

The date for Saskatchewan's next provincial election may not fall, as currently scheduled, in November of 2015.

The date for Saskatchewan's next provincial election may not fall, as currently scheduled, in November of 2015.

The2015 date isPremier Brad Wall'spreferred choice, howeverhe has expressed concern that itwould conflict withthe next federal election, in October of 2015.

Saskatchewan has asked for the national vote to be moved. However, if the date remains unchanged,Saskatchewan's plan is to movethe provincial election date toApril of 2016.

In that case, the current government will be in power for four years and five months.
