Evacuees from the Prud'Homme, Sask., gas fire have now been allowed back in their homes.

Evacuees from the Prud'Homme, Sask., natural gas fire have now been allowed back in their homes.

Thirteen people had to leave the area Oct. 11 after fire broke out above a TransGasnaturalgas storage cavern on the site, about 78 kilometres northeast of Saskatoon.

When a wellhead failed, flames as high as 78 metres shot into the sky.

After a few setbacks, crews were able to snuff out the fire and install a new well head on Friday.

With the fire out, work now continues on repairing the damage and finding out what caused the fire.

No one was injured.
