Highway 4 near Swift Current closed after possible powder uranium spill

A hazardous materials team is cleaning up a Saskatchewan highway following a single-vehicle rollover. RCMP say a section will be closed off until Tuesday.

A hazardous materials team is cleaning up a Saskatchewan highway following a single-vehicle rollover.

Swift Current RCMP said at about 12:30 p.m. CST, a vehicle rolled over on Highway 4 about 10 kilometres north of the city.

Police said the vehicle was a tractor trailer haulingwhat is believed to bepowder uranium.

No one was injured in the incident and RCMP said no residents in the surrounding area are in danger as a result of the spill.

A section of Highway 4 has been closed until Tuesdayas crews clean up. RCMP said traffic is being rerouted and drivers should expect delays.
