'We have a beautiful facility': $150,000 donation helps Hope's Home

Hope's Home, a Regina daycare that provides services to children with complex medical needs, is celebrating new equipment thanks to a donation of $150,000 from The Mosaic Company.

Hope's Home, a Regina daycare that provides services to children with complex medical needs, is celebrating the installation of new equipment thanks to a donation of $150,000 from The Mosaic Company.

"Mosaic's generosity and support has touched the lives of the children," Jacqueline Tisher, founder and CEO of Hope's Home, said Thursday in Regina.

"It's wonderful to see," Bruce Bodine, from Mosaic, said at the announcement, which included youngsters and families. "Thankyou for bringing hope to our community."

Hope's Home is a medical daycare which began 10 years ago, In addition to the daycare, Hope's Home provides respite services to families.

In April, they movedto a new space in Regina having outgrown two locations.

Now Hope's Home is able to provide regular care for over 90 families.

"We just moved here, so were getting everything settled," Tisher said.

The $150,000 donation to Hope's Home in Regina will help the group install a variety of equipment as well as provide needed supplies for various therapy programs. (CBC)

Thanks to the donations, they were able to install specialized equipment including things likeceiling tracks that help meet the youngsters' mobility needs.

"Even the tables and chairs that are suited for our children Mosaic was able to do that for us," Tisher said. "We have a beautiful facility."

She noted that some of the equipment is very expensive.

"It's not covered with typical daycare fees," she said.

Graycia Marshall's son goes to Hope's Home. She said having such a place is beneficial to families.

"To this day I sometimes pinch myself because I can't believe I have Hope's Home in my life. It's honestly a dream come true," Marshall said.

Recently the daycare has added 25 more spaces but there is still a wait list.

In addition to their Regina-based facility, Hope's Home operates in Prince Albert and Saskatoon.

"There's nothing more important than helping kids with a lot of needs," Bodine said.
