Price of produce continues to rise in Regina

As food prices continue to rise, The Morning Edition looks at how much fruits and vegetables cost in Regina grocery stores.

January is a great time to make goals like get healthyand save moneybut you might not be able to do both.

The price of fresh fruits and vegetables rose in 2015 and it continues to grow.

According to the Food Institute atthe Universityof Guelph, the average Canadian household will spend about $350 more on food in 2016.

Produce is particularly pricey. The institute reported that the price of fruits and vegetables in 2015 went up 10 per cent from 2014.

The Morning Edition went around to five Regina grocery stores to see just how much produce is costing customers right now.
