Progress made in triple homicide case, Regina police chief says

For the first time, Regina police say they may have a lead on a triple homicide that happened this summer.

Three Burmese refugees, including one small child, were found dead in their townhouse on Oakview Drive on the city's north side on Aug. 6.

Gray Nay Htoo, 31, Maw Maw, 28, and their three-year-old son Seven June Htoo were Karen refugees from Burma, also known as Myanmar.

It's been four months, but now Regina Police Chief Troy Hagen says two people who may have been involved are being watched.

"Certainly the investigation has progressed to the point that we certainly have a couple of people in mind and I am satisfied the investigation is moving forward," Hagen said.

Police don't have enough information to call them suspects, he said.

A 12-person task force has been working on the case, Hagen said.
