Police say they have identified the human remains found in a rural area northeast of Moose Jaw this April.

RCMPwere notified about the remains on April 28 and alerted the public a short time later.

The Mounties said they believed the remains had been at the location for 10 years or more. In an attempt to identify them,RCMP released photos of some items located on or near the body.

There were several papers in the immediate area, but they were stuck together and unreadable. RCMP rehydrated those papers and founda possible identification and name of the person.

As a result of those findings and DNA analysis, RCMP were able to confirm the identity of the deceased as an adult man from Saskatchewan. Police have notified his family.

RCMP say the man's death is not considered suspicious, there are not outstanding missing persons reports associated to the individual and the family has asked for privacy.

As a result, they willnot release the man's identity.
