Regina pitcher gets call-up by MLB's Detroit Tigers

Regina-born minor league pitcher DustinMollekencould soon get a chance to pitch for the Detroit Tigers.

The 31-year-old right-hander was recently called up from the triple-A Toledo Mud Hens.

Molleken has also played in Japan for the the Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Fighters and has competed for the Canadian national baseball team.

The Tigers haven't said when or ifMolleken will play.

The Tigersopena four-game series against the Seattle Mariners tonight in Detroit.
