If you noticed something abnormal in downtown Regina on Saturday afternoon, don't be alarmed: The zombie apocalypse was only here for a good cause.

More than a hundred people covered in blood and gutsdragged their feet, moaned, groaned and lurched around Victoria Park.

Instead of brains, the zombie enthusiasts collecteddonations for the Regina and District Food Bank.

The 8th Annual Zombie Walk startedat 3:30 p.m.CSTin Victoria Park. The lurching and the dragging started shortly after 4:30 p.m.

Participants brought non-perishable food bank items to the event, all of which were collected delivered to the food bank.

Zombie Walkveteran NotanneeBourassaslunk through his seventh straight walk.

"Donating to the food bank: that's a must," he said when asked why he keeps coming out to the yearly event.

There's also the bit that appeals to his creative side: "It's fun and I can be imaginative," he said as he slowly slunkonward.
