The Rural Municipality of Sherwood is adding its voice to the calls for more informationabout land deals in the area west of Regina in 2014.

CBC Saskatchewan's iTeam first reported on the $21-million the Global Transportation Hub paid for 204 acres about $103,000 per acre.

RM of SherwoodReeveJeff Poissantsays people have been comparing the deals they received for their land around the GTH and elsewhere.

The RM, whose territory surrounds the city of Regina, wants an independent inquiry.

"It seems like there were some widely varying numbers, you know, right across the road from each other," Poissant said.

"So we're just trying to figure out how some of these numbers were arrived at, and kind of what the process was used, and just get some more information and have it brought more to the open."

Premier Brad Wall has said he is completely satisfied with the land deal. He has asked the provincial auditor to review the transactions to make sure they are OK.

The NDP also says it welcomes a special investigation by the provincial auditor.
