Cam Broten was right to fire me: NDP campaign manager Frank Quennell

A day after being removed as the Saskatchewan NDP'selection campaign manager,Frank Quennell saidparty leader Cam Broten made the right decision in holding him accountable.

"Cam Brotenmade the right decision to hold me accountable and to publicly set out the the changes that were being made to his team,"Quennellsaid in a Sunday evening Facebook post.

"I failed to anticipate and prepare for a Saskatchewan Party attack which allowed a major distraction to a campaign that should be about issues and ideas."

On Saturday, Brotenannounced that he removedQuennell as campaign manageramid four candidates either stepping down orbeing removed from the party's campaign due to questionable and sexistsocial media posts.

Of the now-former campaign manager, Brotensaid: "He's a friend who has served this party well and who will continue to play a role but I want new campaign leadership."

The NDP's chief of staff, Linsay Martens, was named the new campaign manager on Saturday.

Comparison with Sask. Party'sBill Boyd

Quennellalso used the Facebookpost to raise questions aboutBill Boyd's role running the Sask. Party campaign.

"Both campaigns lost those managers, but in strikingly different ways,"he said.

"Mr. Boyd became embroiled in a couple of controversies; his involvement in the use of taxpayers' moneyto purchase land at three times its appraised value and his use of government planes as a personal limousine service. Brad Wall stood by Mr. Boyd in both cases. Mr. Wall had no choice as he was complicit in both."

Quennell also questioned where Boyd is right now and who is currently running his party's election campaignin the post.

ASask.Party spokesperson said Monday morning that "Bill Boyd has always been and continues as campaign co-chair."
