Youth charged in connection with incident that prompted Miller High School lockdown: Regina police

One youth has been charged with possession of a weapon in connection with an incident that led to a lockdown at Regina's Miller Comprehensive Catholic High School on Friday.

One youth has been charged with a weapons offence in connection with an incident that led to a lockdown at aRegina high school on Friday.

Miller Comprehensive Catholic High School went into lockdownas a precautionary measure after police received a report just after 1 p.m. of two students being chased by two or three other people, who threatenedto assault them with bear spray.

The caller said the people chasing the studentswere in the area of the College Avenue school and may have entered it, according to police.

The Regina Catholic School Division said the lockdown was liftedat about 3:20 p.m.

In an update Saturday, Regina police said no one was injured in the incident.

Three youths were arrested for possession of weapons, but two were released without charges, according to police.

One youth was charged with possession of a weapon. His first court appearance is set for Oct. 31, police said.

They did not indicate the ages of any of the youths arrested, or the ages of the students who were chased.
