Pats need game 3 desperation to win, player says

The Pats' Coach has no qualms about the way his team played in Red Deer over the weekend. Other than, they lost both games. His game 3 pep talk to the boys on Tuesday will remind them of that fact.

His game threepep talk to the boys on Tuesday will remind them of that fact.

"Just play the same way. There's a couple little things, but really we're not unhappy the way we played at all. Hopefully get a little bit more success."

If they don't find more success in game three, the Pats will be in trouble something they have managed to avoid so far in these WHL playoffs.

After losing their first round series opener in Lethbridge, they rebounded to steamroll the Hurricanes' out of the playoffs.

Now they find themselves down two nothing in their second round series, losing by scores of 3-2 and 4-3 in Red Deer.

Morale is still high

Pats' Forward Cole Sanford says their confidence has not been affected.

"I don't think we're out of the series at all. You know we've played two pretty good games out there. We didn't get the results we wanted but I think we're still confident. We're coming back home, we're just focused on the next game and that's all we can control right now."

On the bright side, the Pats' powerplay is clicking on all cylinders, scoring five times with the man advantage in Red Deer.

But if you do the math, five goals is all they scored in Red Deer. Now they have to find a way to score ateven strength.

Pats defenceman Connor Hobbs says they can achieve that by playing with more desperation and hope the bounces go their way.

Fellow defencemanColby Williams says they just have to stay positive.

"They're a powerhouse team, they have a lot of confidence right now, but I think morale in the dressing room is still really high and I think we have to come out in game three and play with a lot of passion."

Should game five be necessary, itwill be played back in Red Deer this Friday.
