2 Saskatchewan Penitentiary inmates die on same day

A second man, Christopher Andrew Van Camp, has died inside the Saskatchewan Penitentiary in Prince Albert on the same day, the Correctional Service Canada says.

For the second time in a day, aman has died inside the Saskatchewan Penitentiary.

Christopher Andrew Van Camp, 37, died while in the prison's custody on Wednesday, according to a release from Correctional Service Canada.

"Emergency services were called. The inmate could not be resuscitated," according to the release.

Almost finished sentence

Van Camp was nearly finished serving his sentence.

On June 6,2012, he was sentenced to five years, five months and 12 daysfor a variety of charges, including armed robbery, fraud, and break and enter with intent.

Correctional Service Canada says it will review the circumstances of the incident.

Earlier in the day, the service announced that another inmate at the penitentiary, 44-year-old Daniel James Tokarchuk, haddied on Wednesday.

The service did not release details about what happened in either case, or whether the deaths were related.
