Injured Canada goose takes first steps on road to recovery in Saskatchewan

A Canada goose that suffered a serious head injury in Saskatchewan has made an inspiring recovery to take her first steps on video.

The gosling was admitted to the Salthaven West Wildlife Rehabilitation and Education Centre in Regina after it was found on the side of the road with a serious head injury.

When she arrived at the centre, the gosling was too weak to stand, with no use of her legs.

But with twice-daily physical therapy, both in and out of the water, the young bird has slowly regained enough strength to use her legs again.

The wildlife centre shared a video ofthe gosling's first steps in a social media post.

"The next time you feel like you cannot do something, get up and try!" said the post.

"If this little one can overcome her challenges so can you."
