Man in custody after daylight stabbing near downtown Saskatoon

A man was taken to hospital and another man is in custody after a daylight stabbing near the busy intersection of 20th Street and Idylwyld Drive on Saturday.

A man was taken to hospital and another man is in custody after a daylight stabbing near the busy intersectionof 20th Street and Idylwyld Drive on Saturday.

Police were called to the scene of the stabbing at about 12:35 p.m. CST.

They found a 45-year-old man with a stab wound to the right side of his neck.

Police said a quick response helped them track down a 43-year-old suspect, who was allegedly carryinga knife when he was taken into custody.

The male victim was taken to the Royal University Hospital, where he remains inserious but stable condition.
