Dogs in Saskatoon have a new space to run free

Dogs in Saskatoon have a new place to frolic now that a Westmount off-leash park has officially opened.

City officially opens newest off-leash dog park in Westmount

Dogs in Saskatoon have a new place to frolicnow that a Westmount off-leash park has officially opened.The fenced-inpark is between 32ndStreetand 33rd Street and is 1.6 hectares big.

The park is equipped with waste bags and garbage containers.

The city noted there are seven other dog parks in Saskatoon.

  • Avalon:south end of Broadway Avenue.
  • Caswell:next to the Mayfair Pool.
  • Hampton Village: north on Rural Road3060, near the airport.
  • Hyde:south end of Hyde park, next to Boychuck Drive.
  • Silverwood:access off Kinnear Avenue or the east end of Adilman Drive.
  • Southwest: off Valley Road by the landfill.
  • Sutherland Beach: west off Central Avenue just north of Attridge Drive.

The city is also reminding dog owners to:pick up after their animal; keep pets on-leash unless they are in an area where signs indicate it's an off-leash area; and be considerate of other people enjoying the parks.
