Driver evading officers in stolen vehicle ran out of fuel in a farmyard: Saskatoon police

Saskatoon police say a chase involving a stolen vehicle Monday night began on the city's west side and ended with four people being arrested in a farmyard outside the city.

Air support unit tracks vehicle until police cruisers arrive on scene

Saskatoon police say a chase involving a stolen vehicle Monday night began on the city's west side and ended with four people being arrested in a farmyard outside the city.

Police say the incident began just after 9 p.m. CST Monday when officers tried to stop an SUV near the intersection of Bedford Road and Avenue J North.

Police say the vehicle sped away, heading west out of the city.

Thelocal air support unittracked the vehicle. In a tweet, the unit said a shotgun and a crossbow were tossed out of the vehicle before it came to a stop in a farmer's field outside of the city.

The four occupants in the vehicle were arrested without further incident.

A 36-year-old man faces charges including dangerous driving, evading police, possession of stolen property and possession of a firearm while prohibited.

A 32-year-old man, a 29-year-old woman and a 22-year-old woman are charged withpossession of stolen property.
