It's a clean bill of health for Phoenix the red panda.

In January, the Saskatoon Forestry Farm Park & Zoo took Phoenix to the Western College of Veterinary Medicine for a full check-up and recently released the video.

Veterinarians checked the red panda's eyes, skeletal structure and teeth. They also did blood tests, x-rays and an ultrasound to make sure Phoenix was in good shape.

The zoo says the visit was a learning experience for the veterinarians as well.

"It contributes to the overall knowledge on the physiology of the red panda," said zoo manager John Moran in the video. "It'll really give us some baseline information on the overall health status of this animal."

Phoenix was brought to the Saskatoon Zoo in 2014. Red pandas have been classified as vulnerable due to habitat loss and poaching.
