Walter Murray Collegiate teacher Rhett Lundgren facing child pornography charges

A Walter Murray Collegiate teacher is facing child pornography charges after police executed a search warrant at his home on Dec. 8.

Rhett Lundgren, 39, has been charged with two counts of arranging to commit a sexual offence against a child and one count of attempting to access child pornography.

Lundgrenteaches work education at the Saskatoon high school. He's been with the division since 2010. Veronica Baker with the division says a letter has been sent home to parents outlining the allegations.

The division is also doing its own investigation. Lundgren is off work with pay as of today.

In 2008, he was also employed as a coach at the Hunting Hills High School in Red Deer, Alta.

The charges are the result of a Saskatchewan Internet Child Exploitation Unit investigation, which started Nov. 29.

Lundgren appeared in court in Saskatoon on Friday morning.
