Saskatoon's CarShare Co-op wants to expandacross the river.

The car sharing service is interested in expanding to either the downtown core or the City Park neighbourhood.

"That will allow us to expand our membership, make the car share program more accessible to other residents of the city," said coordinator Jessie Best.

Currently the group has two cars in the Nutana neighbourhood around Broadway. It wants to buy two more, doubling its fleet.

Best says it's important to have the cars within walking distance of the people who use them.

"We find that car shares work best in a six to eight block radius of the car sharing vehicles," she said.

Car sharing services allow a number of people access to a vehicle without actually owning a car.
