A Crown witness says Frances Sugar fatally stabbed her daughter after an argument about bad parenting anddivvying up the proceeds of illegal drug sales.

Sugar is charged with second degree murder in connection with the June 23, 2014 death of Lindey Sugar on a grid road south of Saskatoon.

But he said the mother and daughter periodically left to sell ritalinoutside a local coffee shop and soon began arguing about splitting the proceeds.

The three left the barbecue and began driving south of the city onClarence Avenue.

Kissling said the argument then shifted to Lindeyberating her mother for beating her as a child and leaving her outside the city. He said that Lindey threatened to beat her mother and leave her south of Saskatoon, to show her what it was like.

Kissling said Lindey, who was driving, did stop and the pair both got out on the grid road and began fighting.

"It was a family affair, none of my business. I thought they'd beat each other up, call it a day and go home," he said.

"Then I saw motions of Frances stabbing her own daughter in the neck."

Lindey rolled into the heavy grass in the ditch.

Kissling said he heard Frances Sugar say: "You want to fight like the big boys, you're going down like the big boys."

The trial continues all week.
