Jury deliberations continue in $24 million Atlas Copco fraud trial

The 12 jurors in the Atlas Copco fraud case will continue their deliberations in private today.

They are tasked with determining if the two men on trial helped to steal $24 million from the Sudbury mining supply company.

Dirk Plate and Paul Caron both 72 say they had no idea there was a scheme to overbill the company for employee benefits.

Two former Atlas Copco employees, including former Sudbury resident David Hillier, have both admitted to helping to steal millions from the company between 2001 and 2007.

It could be several days before the jury returns with a verdictconsidering they have 40 days worth of testimony to review.
