While the prize is a higher-end sport car, the money raised will establish bursaries for Cambrian students who can't afford the luxuries of school, rent or even food.

Kathy Wells-McNeil, volunteer co-chair and member of Cambrian's board of governors, says the bursariesare on way of alleviating the financial burden placed on students.

"You see a number of students having to work one, twoeven threepart time jobs while maintaining their studies," Wells-McNeil said, "It can put them at a disadvantage in a number of areas."

As a student in Cambrian's nursing program, Wells-McNeil experienced her own set of challenges.

"I remember struggling, working twopart-time jobs. I remember my Hydro being cut off at Christmas time," Wells-McNeil said, "Honestly, no hot water. In a beautiful place, it was called Cambrian fitness centre, I remember going there to take a hot shower."

Tickets are $20 or you can get 3 for $50 from the Cambrian Foundation office (room 2609), or by visiting Cambrian's parking services in room 2207. They may also be purchased at the Crosstown car dealership, located at 280 Falconbridge Rd, or by visiting Total Nursing Care Inc at 1375 Regent St.
