Laurentian University's new challenge course 1st of its kind in Canada

The Laurentian University human kinetics program has commissioned the company Challenges Unlimited inc. to build the Tango Tower challenge course.

The Tango Tower is not just for students the public can also benefit from this challenge course

If you've been to Laurentian University lately, you may have spotted a 50 foot tower on campus. The structure which is part of a challenge course was put up by the human kinetics program at the University. The CBC's Jan Lakes went to check it out.

In an effort to boost itsOutdoor Adventure Leadership program, the Laurentian University human kinetics program commissioned the company Challenges Unlimited inc. to build itsTango Tower challenge course.

The tower will beused as a training tool for students, saysprogram co-ordinator Jim Little.Some of the students will also become trainers and willfacilitatethe course for members of the public who want to rent it.

Kevin French, the marketing and sales director for Challenges Unlimited Inc., told CBC Newsthe toweris the first of its kind in Canada.

The tower has different levels thatgroups can tackle together. The challenge course is designed to showpeople how tohelp each other through problematicsituations.

The tower takes "people out of their comfort zone, and what is the norm, and puts them into disequilibrium," French said.

The job of the trainers isto help the groupmake valuable connections, he added. Watch the videos below for more.
