New PET scan suite at Sudbury hospital to be built on stilts

The new PET scan suite at the hospital in Sudbury will be built on stilts.

Health Sciences North released the architectural drawings for the new space, which will house the positron emission tomography scanner.

In a news release, the hospital says the PET Scan suite will be on the second level of the south tower.

It was almost a month ago that the $3.5-million needed to purchase the machine was finally raised.

The Ministry of Health has stated it will pay the $4.6-million dollars needed to build the special PET scan suite at the hospital.

The hospital estimates the work will be completed in 18 months.
