Mining has been a male-dominated profession for years. But times are changing and Lynne Bouchard is part of that change.

The 25-year-old has become the first female captain of a team in the Ontario mine rescue competition.

Bouchardbegan her career in mining as an intern at Vale inSudbury. Now she works in thethe engineering department at St. Andrew Goldfields in Black-River Matheson.

The provincial mine rescue competitionis being held this week at Dome Mine inTimmins.
