The Good Food Box is popping up around Sudbury this summer.

The local non-profit organization will appear inpop-up markets at two local parks, stocked with fruits and vegetables, a good portion of it grown in the area.

"We try to get local," market assistant Kate Merla said. "And if people are requesting corn then we'll definitely look at trying to get what the people want."

The organization is also aiming to make it easier and more affordable for families to eat healthy,.

"Everything here is at or below market price," she said. "We are non-profit, so if everything sells out, our goal is to make zero dollars.

'Fantastic...and affordable'

Benita Rams, who was driving by the Copper Cliff pop-up, pulled over when she saw the Food Box's tent.

"I think it's fantastic," Rams said. "Even my daughter was picking out stuff...to get her to eat vegetables and fruits is awesome. And it's so affordable."

The pop-up market will be in Morel Park on Second Avenue every Tuesday from 3:30 pm to 5:30 pm and at Spencer Park in Copper Cliff on Wednesdays from 10:30 am to noon.
