You've probably heard about drag queens, drag kings, and all sorts of gender-diverse performers - but have you ever heard of a drag clown? We'll hear from one named Jimbo, one of the stars of the hit show RuPaul's Drag Race, who will be bringing the circus to town.

Jimbo's Drag Circus is coming to town.

More specifically, the drag queen and clown who appeared on Canada's Drag Race is coming to the northern Ontario cities ofNorth Bay and Thunder Bayin early June.

"I like to describe my drag as exhilarating, bodacious, exciting, wild," said Jimbo, who is from Victoria, B.C.

"I'm a costume designer, so I like turning really extreme looks. I am a clown. So it's all about bigger and better and more."

Jimbo says she always wanted to be a famous drag performer, but it was appearing on Canada's Drag Race that really made a difference.

"I always dreamed and hoped and wished," she said.

"And my partner, we would always talk about the future. And I would say to him, 'You know, one day I'm going to be a famous clown and I'm going to be touring the world.'"

The show in North Bay will be on June 2and the Thunder Bay performance will be on June 4.

Jimbo says she took inspiration from "old-timey circuses" for the show, and combines that aesthetic with drag.

"We love coming to town, creating an environment and a space for people to come celebrate their weird selves, to come and be with other queer people and allies and obviously not just queer people," she said.

"Drag is for everybody. It's all about entertaining and providing a fun experience."
