However a hearing scheduled to take place Thursday between the protesters and company will determine the next steps, OPP added.

Some Attawapiskatband members have been blocking the roadto the mine throughout the month.

A court injunction was issued last week, but the company said it has not been acted upon.

OPP spokesperson Marc Depatie also said officers have not been able to physically travel to the site due to the weather.

He added whatever action is taken next will be done in a culturally sensitive manner.
